Charles earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, as a Federal Government scholar. At the MyNND Lab, he is currently investigating the expression patterns and functional role of oligodendrocyte monocarboxylate transporter 1 (OMCT1) across distinct brain regions in mice. His research aims to understand how OMCT1 contributes to the metabolic support of neurons and overall brain health, and how regional differences in its expression may influence neural function and vulnerability to diseases.

Outside the lab, he can often be found at a piano, on a hiking trail, or in pursuit of the perfect sightseeing spot.
